FAQs

Do you supply PA and lighting?

All bookings include a high quality Allen & Heath PA, and lighting rig. This gives the band the ability to perform small intimate venues or larger venues with hundreds of guests. At larger venues we can, if needed, bring in a sound production crew to ensure clarity and effect sound distribution. Our lighting rig includes wash lights, moving spotlights and effect lighting for the dancefloor, all fully programmed to suit the music and dynamic of your event.

What style of music do you play?

So What is essentially a party band who specialise in rock covers, with a few blues, pop and funk songs thrown in the mix. So What will tailor each set list according to the specifications of the client, however the band will usually begin the night with quieter, easy listening songs, followed by the more upbeat rock favourites that get everyone on the dance floor.

How many sets do you play?

So What normally play 50 minute sets of songs with a break for 10-15 minutes between sets. The break is more for guests than the band. While most guests will want to party and dance, everyone needs a few minutes to recover, freshen up, socialise, top up their drink and be ready for the next set of songs. However if you require non-stop music, So What can certainly do that too. The band never tires!

What happens during set breaks?

Continuous recorded music is played through the PA during set breaks. This music is in a similar style to the music performed by So What. If your event involves dinner, you may prefer to have recorded music playing while guests are dining. So What can provide background music, or alternatively, we can play your preferred music from your iPod, MP3 player or CD.

Can I use the microphone and PA for speeches?

Absolutely. One or more microphones can be used for speeches and announcements at no extra charge.

Do you offer MC services?

MC services can be provided by our charismatic lead vocalist, Maxine, upon request.

When do you arrive and set up?

So What will arrive, set up and sound check 1-2 hours before the event starts, provided access to the venue is possible, so the band is ready to go when your guests arrive.

Will the band travel?

So What is a Sydney based band, but has played in venues out of the Sydney metro area. All enquiries are welcome, including those outside the Sydney area.

Are you covered by insurance?

You can have peace of mind at your event, knowing that So What is fully covered by public liability insurance that covers damages up to $20,000,000
